Rittner Horn area of outstanding natural beauty
Our Hotel Tann is situated at the heart of the Rittner Horn area of outstanding natural beauty. It comprises the higher areas of the municipal area of Ritten starting with Kematen and Oberinn and stretching as far as the Rittner Alm. This uniquely beautiful natural landscape is directly accessible from the Hotel Tann.
This designated protected area comprises the scenically most valuable areas in the hinterland of the settled area of Klobenstein, Maria Saal and Oberinn, which are major attractions for tourism on the Ritten or are valuable natural and/or extensively used mountain agricultural areas.
Numerous larch meadows and pastures start right by the Tann; their preservation is important not solely because they make up an aesthetic landscape, but also in ecological and natural history terms, since in many cases the meadows feature a hugely diverse range of species of flower.
The freestanding trees near the Saltner Hut are an interesting scenic feature as they are not only very large and old, but also have an interesting pyramid shape. The upland moors on the Loden and near the Hirschenlacken and the Kircher Lacke, an idyllically situated forest lake, are especially valuable.
