Airy: hiking around the Tann
Sniff the larches, breathe in the mountain air, recharge your batteries. The Tann inspires wanderlust. 400 km of hiking trails are just waiting for you to explore them. And another good thing: they begin right by the hotel.
THE BEST HIKING TIPS ON THE RITTEN
An eye-opener: the Rittner Horn panoramic trail
A hike with overwhelming panoramic views. The Dolomites in wide screen format. It starts at the Schwarzseespitze, the mountain station of the Rittner Horn mountain railway. Follow the “Panoramaweg” signposts, and you will soon come to an unusual rest area. The “Round Table” made of wood, designed by Franz Messner, has a panoramic mountain map made of metal with information about the surrounding summits.
Summit hike: The Ritten Earth Pyramids
Hike thousands of years back in time. And marvel at what is created when nature takes its time: the unique Ritten Earth Pyramids. The bizarre landscape with its clay pyramids, some of which are 30 metres tall, is well worth visiting. Places of natural wonder: the Finsterbach Valley between Lengmoos and Mittelberg, the Katzenbach Valley below Oberbozen and the valley of the Gastererbach.
A connoisseurs’ tour: Lodenmoor and Kircher Lacke
The trail leads through the forest along the forest track to the Lodenböden and then continues to Kircher Lacke. We recommend spending a while in this idyllic place. A wonderful, small forest lake with places to sit and a small sunbathing area. A place for dreaming and ideal for a picnic. The return route passes the Saltner Hut. Total walking time approx. 2 hours.
