Ritten narrow gauge railway
The Ritten railway was opened on 13 August 1907. It was Belle Epoque, during which the mountains began to be opened up for well-to-do travellers to recuperate. The narrow gauge railway ran from Bolzano direct onto the Ritten - needing to overcome a difference in altitude of almost 1000 metres in the process. On the Ritten plateau the Ritten narrow gauge railway has been preserved and today our little railway runs between Klobenstein and Oberbozen. The Ritten railway runs every 30 minutes with a journey time of 16 minutes between Klobenstein and Oberbozen.
Ritten cable car - from the alms to the palms
The new, ultra-modern Ritten Cable Car, which was opened on 23 May 2009, connects the Ritten to the state capital of Bolzano. Practical and uncomplicated, there are departures from the alms for the palms every 4 minutes. High above the valley you will sway over meadows, forests and the vineyards of St. Magdalena. The views stretch far into the distance and the journey is unforgettable.
Rittner Horn mountain railway
The Rittner Horn mountain railway is a modern 8-seater circulating gondola, that travels from Pemmern (1530 m) to the Schwarzseespitze (2,060 m) in just 8 minutes. An excursion on the Rittner Horn is an experience that will live long in the memory. Guests of the 4-star Tann may take one free return journey up the mountain every day.
In summer the Rittner Horn mountain railway operates from 18th May 2023 till 5th November 2023 from 9 AM to 5 PM and from 9th October 2023 until 4:30 PM.
